Sol Silva - Support Related Personnel of the Year
I am honored to recognize our SRP of the Year this year, Mrs. Sol Silva. She is one of the most dedicated people I know. Mrs. Silva puts her all into each one of her students and she is always striving to be the best support teacher she can be. I have witnessed Mrs. Silva work hard to make everyone around her feel supported. With her students, Mrs. Silva always makes them feel welcome and safe in our school. Throughout the past years, Mrs. Silva has positively influenced many children from all backgrounds, abilities and ages. Not only has she helped students succeed academically, but has also helped make them solid members of our school’s community. She is an excellent role model who shows selflessness and devotion to QHES. You can always count on her to stay upbeat and positive while encouraging her students to better themselves. She creates an inviting and respectful learning atmosphere in every room she’s in. Mrs. Silva is an irreplaceable member of our team and we are very proud of her. The Staff and students at Quail Hollow Elementary are very fortunate to have Mrs. Silva as our ELL support.

Kelsi Karkosh - Teacher of the Year
We have been extremely happy with Miss Karkosh as our 3rd grade teacher! Miss Karkosh is well deserving of the teacher of the year award. She is always smiling and willing to help our children in any way possible. Gabby loves coming to school because of the fun, learning, and games she experiences in Miss Karkosh’s class. She has a caring and generous heart and is always willing to go above and beyond her classroom duties.

Ms. Kelsi Karkosh is being recognized by her colleagues as one that exemplifies those values in her work. She is committed to ensuring all students reach their fullest potential. Ms. Karkosh begins this pursuit with building strong relationships with students, families, and staff and understands relationships are the foundation to growing a child academically. Her growth mindset is evident in the quality of her instruction and in the students she teaches. We are honored to have Ms. Karkosh represent QHES as 2017-18 teacher of the year!
